An Ottawa organization that helps match community volunteer advocates with persons with disabilities is considering possible expansion of its services to Renfrew County and elsewhere in Eastern Ontario. October 24, 2006, Pembroke Daily Observer: Citizen Advocacy eyes Renfrew County. Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa is exploring the possibility of branching into Renfrew County. Citizen Advocacy, a United Way agency, is conducting a feasibility study in order to find ways to link people with disabilities to volunteer advocates who offer support and friendship when they need it the most. October 4, 2006, Cornwall Standard: Citizen Advocacy considering an S, D and G expansion. It’s a match being made, if not in heaven, then at least in Canada’s capital. And this week, Ottawa-based Citizen Advocacy announced it would be exploring whether to expand its one-on-one support program, which matches “volunteer advocates” with disabled or otherwise at-risk individuals, to the S, D and G area.
